Malena is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Susana Montero, who in 2001, assembled a team of producers and session musicians to record and produce her material. The result was Malena, with its deep Latin grooves, firing percussion and rich vocal harmonies. Having established herself as one of the top salsa singers in the UK, (her credits include, Tito Puente, Tania Maria, Isaac Delgado(Cuba), Pichi Valdes ( from Orquesta Reve-Cuba), Jesus Alemany (from Cubanismo-Cuba) and timbalero Roberto Pla(Venezeula) – amongst others), Susana has gone on to become one of the UKs top Latin House divas.
No Llores Masâ is a sun soaked summer house tune, very reminiscent of Masters at Work or Los Amigos Invisibles at their finest. Already gaining plays from some of the scenes tastemakers, as well as an airing in Ibizas less mainstream clubs, this should hopefully soundtrack the Indian Summer weve been promised. Over on the flip, Fried Samba is an instrumental jam, introducing a more subtle twist that should fit well with broken beat and house DJs across the board.
